Yaroomba Boardriders Club Round 7: Small Waves, Clean Conditions

On August 17, 2024, the Yaroomba Boardriders Club hosted its highly anticipated Round 7 at Geeribach Lane, where the Sunshine Coast delivered its trademark small but clean, offshore waves. Despite the modest conditions, the energy was electric as surfers from all age groups showcased their skills and passion for the sport.

The juniors started the day with young Ky taking out the competition. His performance was a perfect mix of style and finesse, navigating the small waves with precision and poise, proving that age is just a number when it comes to talent.

In the over-40s division, Nick W displayed veteran expertise. With years of experience under his belt, Nick’s ability to read the waves and maximize every opportunity set him apart from the rest, earning him a well-deserved win.

Peter May, competing in the over-50s category, reminded everyone that surfing is a lifelong pursuit. His smooth transitions and wave selection were a masterclass in efficiency and experience, leading to his victory in a fiercely contested division.

The opens division was nothing short of thrilling, with Tom Ferg emerging victorious. Tom’s dynamic surfing and bold maneuvers in the clean conditions left the crowd in awe and secured his place at the top of the leaderboard.

As the sun set on another successful round, the Yaroomba Boardriders Club looks forward to Round 8, scheduled for September 21, 2024. The competition is heating up as we approach the end of the season, and with every wave, the stakes get higher.
