LIVE SHIT - (hed)P.E.

Brisbane 9 February 2025

"When the Sunday SHITSHOW crew hit the Bruce Highway bound for The Triffid, they weren't just chasing another gig – they were hunting down a slice of nu-metal history with (hed)P.E.'s explosive Brisbane show. 🤘 Joined by Neillo from Elite Tattoo, the boys were about to witness a perfect storm of rap, metal, and reggae that would turn The Triffid into ground zero for pure musical mayhem."

Raging Vibes and Unity: (hed)P.E. Shakes The Triffid in Brisbane

With a huge thankyou to TREV from SRH Clothing Australia, Stuey, Kev, and Geltchy hit the Bruce Highway en route to Brissy, they knew they were in for a night of sonic mayhem with (hed)P.E. at The Triffid. Joined by Neillo from Elite Tattoo, the crew was ready for a mix of nu-metal, rap, hip-hop, and reggae delivered by the iconic Californian group.

The evening kicked off with
HAMMERS, whose traditional rock amplification set the stage for HEARTLINE's digital, metalcore assault. Sporting a mesh shirt and pink trackie-daks, HEARTLINE's vocalist delivered an impressive vocal range, despite his rally cries to the pit teetering on annoying. Their PRIMER 55 cover was a nostalgic nod to old-school metal, igniting wild energy in the crowd.

As (hed)P.E. took the stage, the atmosphere electrified. Opening with "No Way Out," they launched into a relentless set featuring "Rat Race" and "Peer Pressure." Jared’s promise of "old school HED PE" led to a euphoric rendition of "Killing Time," sparking the night’s first sing-along. Tracks like "Blackout" and "Raise Hell" kept the energy high, with Jared humorously dedicating the latter to his noise-averse neighbour.

The crowd erupted as the band transitioned into "Bartender," its catchy hook fueling an extended jam session. Jared, transforming into Jahred, infused reggae vibes with a cover of Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up," further elevating the night’s positivity. A spontaneous birthday celebration for their guitarist with shots of Jägermeister solidified the band's connection with the audience.

Jahred, commanded The Triffid with unwavering charisma, claiming he had "no other skills" but to rock. Lucky for us, he’s a master at it. The night ended with a palpable sense of unity and joy, a testament to (hed)P.E.'s enduring impact on the nu-metal scene.
