Whiskey & Speed: the name, the sound, the comeback

The band name came from reading rockstar interviews back in the day — someone asks “what’s your diet?” and the answer is always some version of drugs and alcohol. Sometimes literally: whiskey and speed. That line stuck, and it became the band’s whole identity.And it’s not just a name. They build the set around it:

• Whiskey songs: slow, heavy, dragging, sludgey, grunge‑leaning
• Speed songs: eerie, quick, punk, teeth out
