MERCHANDISE

A Tribute to Chris Boyd
YAROOMBA Boardriders was founded by a group of friends on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, driven by their love for the ocean and a passion for surfing. The club's story began with their regular surf sessions, initially held in memory of their friend, Chris Boyd, who tragically lost his life in a shark attack off Gracetown, WA, in November 2013.

Chris Boyd, a 35-year-old father of two, was living his dream and enjoying the waves when he was attacked while surfing the Umbies break off Gracetown, located about 270 kilometres south of Perth. A beloved member of the Coolum Boardriders Club on the Sunshine Coast, Chris was a mentor and friend to many, bringing energy and positivity to his community.

A Decade of Remembrance
This year, as we commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of Chris Boyd, we invite surfers from across the Sunshine Coast to join us for a day of thrilling competition, camaraderie, and tearing up the waves – just as Chris would have wanted.

It's not just a surfing competition; it's a celebration of life, friendship, and the deep connection that brings us all together.

The YAROOMBA Boardriders BOYDY CUP 2023 is not to be missed.
