Event Details
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sunshine Coast, QLD, the competition is scheduled for December 9, 2023, at Yaroomba Beach.

The event will feature 15-minute heats with 40 boys and 24 girls vying for top honours.

Cash prizes await the final 4 surfers in each division.

The Concept
The NEXT GEN 2023 aims to be Australia's premier junior surfing event, offering the highest amount of prize money to assist the next generation of junior surfers in realizing their aspirations of competing at the next level. The judging panel comprises the best local junior surfers currently competing in qualifying events for the World Tour.

What Does It Look Like
$10,000 AUD in Cash and Prizes

  • Age Group: 16 yrs and under
  • 40 boys, 24 girls
  • 15-minute heats
  • Cash prizes for the final 4 surfers in both divisions
  • Expression Session, Best Air, Best Barrel, Best Combo, and Sportsmanship awards
  • Stalls promoting local businesses and services to support our young people

Junior athletes from the Sunshine Coast area are scheduled to compete on December 9th and 10th, 2023.

Official Merchandise
The official merchandise, designed and supplied by Geltchy, underscores the community spirit. Each competitor will receive an official Next Gen 2023 T-shirt and sticker, showcasing the support of locals for locals.
